VoIP Insights vs Gong
Honest, source-cited comparison for teams evaluating call intelligence and conversation analytics. Every pricing claim is dated and sourced.
On our side: $10–$45 per extension per month, flat, on your existing phone bill — no platform fee, no per-user annual contract, no onboarding fee.
What Gong actually costs
Gong does not publish pricing publicly. Based on third-party procurement data and buyer-reported figures as of mid-2026: a mandatory platform fee of $5,000–$50,000/year (does not scale down for small teams), per-user licensing of $1,300–$1,600/year for the base Foundations tier, and a mandatory onboarding fee of $7,500 or more. A 10-person team commonly lands around $28,500 in year one. Contracts typically run 2–3 years with 5–15% auto-renewal price increases. Where Gong genuinely wins
Gong is a real, well-regarded category leader (4.7/5 on G2 across thousands of reviews) with deep CRM integrations, deal-risk forecasting, and rep-coaching tools built for large, structured sales organizations. If you run a 50+ person sales team with a mature weekly coaching rhythm and average deal sizes over $25,000, Gong's own sweet spot, its depth may be worth the cost.
Where VoIP Insights fits instead
We are not trying to be Gong for a 50-person enterprise sales floor. We built VoIP Insights for the business that got priced out of that conversation entirely — a 5 to 50 person team, an answering service, a front desk, a small sales or support group — where a $28,500 year-one bill was never realistic to begin with.
The two features that actually close the gap
QA scorecards (define your own checklist, every call auto-scored pass/fail with reasoning) and outcome tagging (every call auto-classified: booking, complaint, pricing inquiry, lead, callback) bring two of Gong's most valuable capabilities down to a flat per-extension rate, not an enterprise platform fee.
What we do not do
We do not do deal-risk forecasting, pipeline coaching, or CRM-native rep scorecards built for multi-stage B2B sales cycles. If that is specifically what you need, Gong is built for it and we are not pretending otherwise.

Common questions comparing VoIP Insights and Gong
Is VoIP Insights a real Gong alternative, or a lighter version with less depth?
It is a real alternative for a different buyer. If you need deal-risk forecasting and CRM-native pipeline coaching for a large sales org, Gong is built for that and we are not. If you need transcription, sentiment, QA scoring, and outcome tagging on every call — including cell phone calls — at a price that does not require a platform fee, VoIP Insights is built for that.
Why is Gong so much more expensive?
Gong's pricing is built around a mandatory platform fee that does not scale down for small teams, plus per-user licensing and a mandatory onboarding fee. That structure makes sense for a 50+ person enterprise sales floor amortizing the fixed cost across many seats. It does not make sense for a 10-person team, where the same platform fee lands disproportionately hard.
Does VoIP Insights work if I am not switching my phone service?
No. VoIP Insights is a feature of VoIP International phone service, not a standalone product you bolt onto an existing phone system the way Gong is. If you are not on our phone platform, this specific comparison is not the right one for you — talk to us about switching first.
