A phone system built for law firms running on Clio
Click to call any client directly from Clio Manage. Inbound calls open the matching client and active matter records. Business calls log against the right matter automatically — no manual time-tracking entry for the call itself.
What the Clio integration does
Four capabilities that match how law firms actually use a phone system. Honest scope on what is automatic and what still needs human handling.
Click-to-call from Clio Manage
Phone numbers on contact, client, and matter records become clickable. One click places the call from your desk phone, desktop app, or mobile line. No copy-paste.
Client and matter screen pops
When a known client calls, Clio opens to their profile and active matters automatically. Your team sees the case context before answering — without a clumsy lookup mid-call.
Calls tied to matters
Business calls write back to Clio against the matching client and matter record. The call appears in the matter's communications history. Time-tracking entries are still created by your staff — we do not auto-bill time.
Pro Mobile for traveling attorneys
Attorneys taking calls between court appearances or at client sites get a real business cellular line via Pro Mobile. Business calls come from the firm's number, not a personal cell.
How it works
Setup uses Clio's official API with OAuth 2.0. Clio's developer platform is mature — over 300 integrations use the same underlying API.
Authorize the connection
Your Clio administrator authorizes access via OAuth 2.0. You explicitly approve which permissions our integration receives — read contact and matter records, write communications history.
Configure your firm's setup
We use Clio's API to read contacts, clients, and active matters. You decide which Clio fields drive screen pops — for example, matter type, responsible attorney, or last activity.
Roll out to your firm
Office staff get click-to-call from inside Clio. Attorneys traveling between locations or court get Pro Mobile cellular lines. Calls log automatically to the right client and matter.
No separate integration fee.
The Clio integration is included with phone service. You pay for the phone service plan — $17 or $32 per user per month — and the integration is bundled in.

- Multi-attorney firms with 5 to 100+ attorneys plus support staff
- Firms with attorneys who travel — court, depositions, client meetings
- Practices in regulated areas (healthcare, family, immigration) that need clean per-matter communication records
- Firms wanting business call records visible to whoever picks up the matter next
Common questions about the Clio integration
Honest answers about scope, requirements, and what's actually included.
Does this work with both Clio Manage and Clio Grow?
The integration is primarily built around Clio Manage, which is where client and matter records live. If your firm uses Clio Grow for intake, inbound calls from prospects can still match against Grow contacts depending on your data sync setup between Grow and Manage. Talk to us about your specific Grow-to-Manage flow during evaluation.
Does this auto-create time entries for calls?
No. Time-tracking entries are still created by your attorneys. The call appears in the matter's communications history with duration and direction captured, which makes it easier for the attorney to enter the time accurately — but we do not auto-bill time. That is intentional; auto-billed time for phone calls creates more compliance risk than value.
Is the integration compliant with attorney-client privilege requirements?
Phone systems do not create or break attorney-client privilege; the underlying communications do. Our infrastructure supports the technical practices firms typically need — call recording controlled by your firm, no shared lines that leak across matters, encrypted call signaling. Your firm's privilege policy is set by your team.
What does the integration cost?
Nothing extra. The Clio integration is bundled with our phone service. Phone service is $17 or $32 per user per month. Pro Mobile is priced separately if attorneys need cellular lines.
Can attorneys take calls on personal phones without giving out their cell number?
Yes. Pro Mobile gives every attorney a real business cellular line that lives on their phone alongside their personal line. Clients see the firm's number; attorneys keep their personal number private.
How does call recording work for matters that involve recording consent rules?
Call recording is controlled per-line and per-call. Your firm sets the recording policy — for instance, recording disabled by default with one-button activation for calls that require it. We provide the technical control; the firm's compliance rules drive the policy.
How long does setup take?
Most Clio firms are live within a few business days. OAuth authorization is fast; field mapping and rollout to attorneys takes most of the time.
